Tinker trays are so much fun because they let your little ones use their imagination and creativity. You don’t need a fancy tinker tray, just use what you have and let them explore!
For this Valentine’s themed tinker tray, I am actually just using our Kinsho bento box which we usually use for snacks or lunches. The little compartments made the perfect tinker tray!
For our tinker tray, I quickly grabbed a few sensory play pieces:
- sensory rice (dyed rice in various colors)
- pearl beads
- gold chickpeas
- painted pasta
- wooden hearts
- plastic strawberries
- some boxes, bowls, plates and scoops
That’s it! Super simple to throw together and my daughter had a blast playing around and making us soup or little plates of food.
PLUS, by using the bento box as our tray, I simply closed the lid when she was done and saved it for tomorrow to play again. This would be the perfect little sensory box to take with us for travel!
