Do you have some pipe cleaners at home? Try this easy fishing activity for practice with fine motor skills, color sorting and more!
Simply twist the pipe cleaners into fish shapes and pop them into a tray of water. Give your toddlers a pair of tongs (or scoops for younger kids) and have them fish out the fish!
You can also provide cups for sorting, I am using colored silicone baking cups which are fun for sorting AND baking! But other options include colored bowls or even just a plastic container with dividers (they was just in our recycling from an old toy).
You can see the focus and attention this simple activity provides. She is practicing fine motor skills with the tongs, color sorting them into separate sections and also counting as she goes!
