Want a fun way to practice posting? Try this feed the frog activity! All you need is:
- frog printable (scroll down to download a free copy of this)
- cardboard
- scissors
- plastic bugs, numbers, letters, loose parts to feed the frog
Cut out the frog printable and tape it to a piece of cardboard. If you are making a flisat insert, you can simply use one piece of cardboard. However, if you don’t have the flisat table, I recommend you using a cardboard box and taping the frog to one side so that you have a box to catch all the loose parts.
Next, cut out a hole where the mouth is and thats it!
Now you are ready for tons of fun and learning. This simple insert can be used in so many ways! Here are some examples:
- Feed the frog plastic bugs
- Use numbers and feed the frog specific numbers
- Use letters and feed the frog specific letters
- Put out a number and ask your little one to find that number of plastic bugs and then feed the frog
- Scoop and feed the frog rice
- Pull and feed the frog grass
Use whatever loose parts you have at home and ask your little ones to feed specific pieces to the frog or specific number of pieces. This is a fun way to practice how to count!
This is also a great posting activity for younger toddlers/babies and I love how they could play together!
