Looking for a new color sorting activity for your toddler? Try this mystery water! It is simple to set up and makes turns sorting into a whole new game.
You’ll need:
- a tray
- water
- cornstarch
- black paint
- color sorting toys (we are using these counting bears and cups)
Simply pour water into a tray, add a bit of black paint and cornstarch, and mix. You don’t need a lot of paint! The cornstarch helps make the water cloudy so that it hides the toys better. Then, all you need to do is pour your toys into the tray and let your little ones find them!
The surprise element of this activity is the best part. They need to dig around with their hands to find the toys and then when they pull them out, they can sort each color.
