This is a super easy activity that you can set up in minutes. It also helps teach your little ones to think and problem solve as they try to match the shapes and colors with popsicle sticks!

For this one, we used jumbo popsicle sticks but you can use the small ones too if you would like. I also added velcro dots to both sides of the sticks to help make them attachable. This is a good idea if your little ones get frustrated easily or upset when their popsicle sticks keep moving and shifting around. Plus, it adds another challenge for them to figure out which velcro sticks together!

You can find velcro dots online – small or large – (I love using them from our laminated activities!) but you can easily do without them too.

Draw out shapes using different colors to match the popsicle sticks and have your little ones recreate the shape using the same colors!

They can even draw their own shapes if they’d like!

For a video on how I set up the popsicle sticks with the velcro dots, watch the video below!

You can use these popsicle sticks in so many ways for learning and playing, enjoy!
