Here is another fun number activity for your little ones to practice matching and number recognition!
All you need for this activity are:
- Bumbleebee printable (download from link)
- Empty tissue box
- Scissors
- Packing Tape
- Dry Erase Marker
First, download your free copy of the printable – click here. I recommend printing out on cardstock to make the bees more sturdy for little fingers but use what you have!

Next, cut the paper down the middle so you have the hive and the bees on separate pieces of paper. Tape the hive on top of the empty tissue box (lining up the brown hole of the hive to the opening of the box). Using a cutter or scissors, cut out the brown circle.
Cut out your bumblebees (depending on the age and skillset of your little on, you can either cut out the bees with numbers or without).
There are multiple ways to play with this printable.
- If you want to use the bees with numbers, add a piece of clear packing tape on top of the orange square on the hive. Use a dry erase marker to write out a number and ask your little ones to find the matching number on the bee. Then help that bee fly into the hive. You can then wipe off the number and write a new one. This is great for those who are in the stage of learning their numbers.
2. You can also cut out the empty bees and write out numbers and have your little ones fly that amount of bees into the hive. This is great for practicing counting.
3. Or simply just have fun picking up and flying bees
